Pixi Skincare Round Up

Being the skincare obsessive that I am, I'm always trialling new things and one brand that really stood out to me in 2015 was Pixi. Their full Skintreats range launched on Cult Beauty last year, with the brands main focus being on creating glowing, radiant skin. This is a little round up/mini review of the bits that I've tried so far.

Unless you've been in hibernation for most of last year, I'm sure you'll have heard all about their Glow Tonic - an acid exfoliant containing 5% Glycolic Acid thats gentle enough for use every day. Glycolic Acid loosens the bond between the skin and the dead skin cells that cling to its surface, revealing brighter, softer and more even skin. I discovered this at the beginning of last year and its been a regular part of my skincare routine ever since.

One step up from the Glow Tonic is the Overnight Glow Serum. Containing double the strength of Glycolic Acid, I tend to use this 2/3 nights a week in the place of Glow Tonic to give my skin an extra boost. This is one of those products that you can really feel working and the results are clear the next morning - this noticeably brightens skin and you wake up looking radiant and fresh.

On to the first of the facial mists that I've tried from the brand: the Glow Mist. I generally use this spritz once I've finished applying my make up if I want to create a dewy finish, instead of as part of my skin care. It has a gorgeous scent and feels nice on the skin, but if over applied this can be on the oily side.

The other facial mist in the Skintreats line up is the Hydrating Milky Mist. Containing Hyaluronic Acid, this spritz offers far more hydration than the Glow Mist and has become a regular part of both my morning and evening routine. It feels refreshing and soothing on the skin and I seem to be getting through this at quite an alarming rate as I can't stop misting myself throughout the day! This would definitely be my pick over the Glow Mist as it still does a great job at refreshing make up but offers extra hydration without any oiliness.

For such high quality skin care, I think Pixi is placed at a really great price point. While not a budget brand by any means, their products are effective but not totally unaffordable, making them a great choice for anyone starting to experiment with skin care or fully fledged obsessives like myself. I'm sure I'll be trying out more of their products soon, I've definitely got my eye on the Glow Mud Cleanser and the 24k Eye Elixir, but if you have any other recommendations then let me know in the comments as I'd love to hear them!

  1. I'm definitely interesting in trying more Pixi Skincare, I just recently bought the Nourishing Sleep Mask, I've only used it a few time so far but I think I'm gonna like it. So the Mud Cleanser is now on my wishlist :)
